Thankful to Hit Peak Foliage in the Rockies

Sometimes short vacations exceed your expectations and the past 5 days were one of those times.  My husband and I planned a trip to the Colorado Rockies in an attempt to catch peak foliage there and the moon and stars aligned for us.

As we watched the approaching weather forecast, our hopes were dimmed by the gloomy outlook.  We were supposed to have rain for the ENTIRE length of stay but instead were greeted by sunshine every day, (well at least every morning).

We stayed in the little town of Frisco which has a great mountain town vibe.  Plenty of shops and restaurants, but that wasn't the draw for us.  We headed out every day for a hike in the bold yellow and orange landscape.  I can't say how thankful I am for the fortunate weather, (unexpected), the time spent with family, and the use of an aunt's condo making the trip ever so convenient.

I had to share some of the best pictures to memorialize the experience.  If you ever need recommendations for some secret spots we found off the beaten path, you know I would love to talk!
